Planning a pre-wedding shoot in Mumbai

Choose a setting that feels like you, then build a shoot around light, comfort and a little room to be yourselves.

Choose a mood before choosing a place

Start with a few words: quiet, playful, dressed-up, intimate or outdoors. A leafy garden, a sea-facing setting, an urban street and an indoor studio each support a different kind of photograph. You do not need all of them in one session. Choose one principal setting and a nearby alternative instead of spending the day travelling between unrelated locations.

Check access before you plan the outfits

Ask the venue or location manager whether a professional shoot is allowed on your chosen date, what equipment is permitted, whether there are fees, and whether a changing space is available. Public access does not automatically mean that a planned professional session can proceed without further arrangements. Confirm who will make these checks before booking transport or preparing a detailed schedule.

Make comfort part of the styling

Choose clothes you can walk, sit and move in. Coordinate the mood and colours without feeling that every detail must match. Bring comfortable footwear between frames and keep outfit changes realistic for the location. Discuss styling references with the team in advance, and tell them if you prefer gentle direction or a more candid approach. The best brief helps you feel like yourselves.

Have a weather and privacy alternative

An indoor option can save a session if outdoor conditions change. Discuss rescheduling, sheltered locations and any differences in the proposed coverage before the date. Tell the team which photographs you are happy to share publicly and which you would prefer to keep personal. If you want both photography and a short film, plan the sequence together so that neither feels like an extra shoot added at the end.
