Wedding photography in Mumbai

Candid photographs of how the day felt, and traditional photographs of who was there. We plan both together, so you get every ritual, every elder and the small moments in between.

Wedding photography across Mumbai

We know how Mumbai weddings run.

From South Mumbai hotels to suburban banquet halls, sea-facing lawns and Bandra's churches, each venue type needs a different plan.

Banquet halls and five-star ballrooms. Low ceilings, mixed lighting and a long stage line for photos. We bring off-camera light and run the stage queue so families are not waiting for hours.

Sea-facing lawns and terraces. In Juhu, Worli and Madh, the light changes fast at sunset and the wind off the sea moves dupattas and decor. We time portraits for the last good light.

Homes and building compounds. Haldi, mehendi and griha pravesh often happen in a flat or a society courtyard. We work in small spaces without taking over the room.

Season and timing. Most Mumbai weddings fall between November and February, and muhurat timings can be early morning or late night. Monsoon weddings need covered backup spots for portraits, which we scout in advance.

Getting around. When the haldi is in Thane and the reception is in Andheri, traffic decides the schedule. We plan travel time between venues so no team arrives late.

Areas we often work in: South Mumbai, Bandra, Juhu, Andheri, Powai, Goregaon, Borivali, Thane and Navi Mumbai.

Two ways of seeing one wedding

Candid or traditional? Usually both.

Families often ask which they need. They do different jobs. If budget allows only one, we will help you decide based on your ceremonies and your guest list.

Candid photography

What it captures
Emotion as it happens: a mother fixing the dupatta, friends crying with laughter, the couple's private glances.
How we work
We move quietly, read the room and wait for the moment instead of posing it.
Best for
Your album's story pages, social sharing and the pictures you frame.

Traditional photography

What it captures
Every ceremony in sequence, the rituals in full, and portraits with each family group and guest.
How we work
We work with your family to run the group photos calmly, so no one important is missed.
Best for
Complete family records, elders who want every relative, and the formal album.

Experience with your ceremonies

Planned around your order of ceremonies.

Before the wedding we go through each event with you: what happens, where the families stand, what the light will be like, and which moments must not be missed.

Hindu ceremonies

Haldi, mehendi, sangeet, baraat, varmala, kanyadaan, pheras, sindoor and vidaai. Positions are planned for the mandap so the priest and the family stay in view.

Muslim ceremonies

Mehendi, nikah, rukhsati and walima. We follow your family's wishes on where cameras can be during the nikah, and which moments stay private.

Christian ceremonies

Getting ready, the bridal entry, vows and rings, signing the register, and the reception. We check parish rules on photography and flash before the day.

Questions

Wedding photography questions

Not covered here? Ask us on WhatsApp.

How much does wedding photography cost in Mumbai?

It depends on the number of events, the team size for each, and what you want delivered: candid only or candid and traditional, a film, an album. A one-day reception and a four-day wedding across two homes are priced very differently. Tell us your events and we will send a clear proposal with one total.

How many photographers do we need for a Mumbai wedding?

It depends on the event and the guest count. Smaller functions such as a haldi or mehendi usually need one photographer. The main ceremony and reception often need two, so one can stay with the couple while another covers family and guests. We suggest a plan for each event when you enquire.

Do you cover both the bride's and groom's sides?

Yes. When ceremonies happen at two homes or venues at the same time, we plan separate teams so both families are covered.

Can we book only candid photography?

You can. We would explain what traditional coverage adds for your family first, especially for rituals and group photographs, so you can decide with the full picture.

Do you travel outside Mumbai?

Yes. For Goa weddings, our sister studio Sands & Vows handles planning and coverage. For other cities, ask us.

When will we get our photographs?

We will give you a delivery date in your proposal. Album printing starts after you approve the photo selection and layout.
